- [Multi-protocol hub with Matter bridge] The M3 is a versatile hub that supports Aqara Zigbee (**no third-party Zigbee devices) and Thread devices. It integrates third-party devices into the Aqara Home app (currently limited to selected device types, but will be extended later). Supports advanced Matter Bridge functionality and allows synchronization of exclusive Aqara scenes and signals with Matter ecosystems such as the Home Assistant for seamless integration. Supports up to 127 Aqara Zigbee devices and 127 thread devices (repeater required).
- [Edge compatibilities and local automations] The M3 serves as an edge hub and prioritizes local control and automation. After integration, it replaces existing Aqara hubs and shifts automations between them to local operation (*Some cloud-based notifications still require Internet). Upgrade-friendly, it supports the migration of Zigbee devices from older Aqara hubs. (Reconfiguration is required for Matter and HomeKit; cloud integrations such as Google Home and Alexa retain all configurations.)
- Intelligent IR blaster with feedback and learning: The 360° IR blaster not only sends commands but also provides accurate status updates by detecting the use of conventional remote controls. It connects IR air conditioners to Matter and acts as a thermostat when pairing with an Aqara temperature and humidity sensor. (Note: only one AC device can be connected to Matter. Functionality may vary depending on the Matter integration app. Please use the Matter integration instead of HomeKit to connect Apple Home).
- [Optimal wired and wireless connectivity] The M3 offers both wired and wireless solutions and provides dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz) with advanced WPA3 security as well as a Power Over Ethernet (PoE) port. The additional USB-C socket allows mini UPS and power bank connections, ensuring unparalleled stability. (*2A USB charging adapter is not included.) Note: Place the device within 6 meters of the router to ensure a stable connection.
- [Privacy-oriented with encrypted storage] The M3 values data protection by excluding microphone or camera components. It has 8 GB of continuously encrypted local storage for device lists, configuration parameters, and automation configuration data. In addition, it includes a bracket and screws for flexible placement on flat surfaces, walls or ceilings.
